Ok, so I'm REALLY not used to heading to the bar/club at 2am, instead of coming home at that time because many of our bars close around then. 

A few of the girls asked if I wanted to go to Buddha club (right on the beach and very close to my house) on Friday, so I went with.  On Friday's it is ladies night, so along with free entry, you also get 4 complimentary drinks.  Not a bad deal :)

Anyway, the night started around 12am b/c we had practice and still had to shower, i had to eat and whatever else, and one of the girls *the one who speaks good english, Catarina* stopped by my house and we walked to a little cafe to meet more of her friends before we really went out. 

The only things we had there were cokes and coffees...and let me say, i HATE coffee in the US, and here in Portugal they say it is MUCH stronger.  Instead of a regular coffee mug, they serve it in a tiny little mug the size of a shot glass.  Anyway, I didn't order one, but one of the people we were w/ ordered one for me, so of course i had to drink it so i wouldn't seem rude.  I only had about half of it before i let it cool off (i have no idea you had to drink it all right away so it's steaming hot b/c after that, it's no good...according to Catarina).  Then i ordered a can of coke so i could get the nasty taste out :) lol.  A can of pop was 1.60E, so a little over 3 bucks, kinda expensive but not horrible.

To get on with it, we got to Buddha, which is actually VERY gorgeous on the inside.  Lots of cool lamps and decorations, etc.  They had 2 different dance floors, one with the portuguese "hip hop" which is like latin music i guess.  The other was the house music, pretty much just like techno, although they did play a Ne-yo song, and maybe another american song too. 

There were SOOOO many people there, I'll post some pictures from that night a little later, but everyone was dressed nicely, (i don't think guys can get in w/ just sneakers or something, the girls said there was a type of dress code) and almost all of the men there appeared to be metro-sexual, lol... What really bothered me was that tons of the people were smoking so it got very smoky, yuckkk. 

It was a fun night, but I'm not really used to being up until 6am, which is when i finally got to bed after we got home from the club.  And when we were leaving around 5:40, the place was still full. It is not the night life I was expecting, but I guess i will just have to try to fit in the best i can :) LOL
